
Chris focuses her practice on workouts and restructurings, outside and inside of bankruptcy, for large and small commercial entities, farmers and individuals with small business issues. In addition, she represents debtors/creditors/trustees/creditor committees/trustees in bankruptcy litigation. Chris practices commercial litigation, representing borrowers, guarantors and/or lenders. She has extensive experience in real estate transactions and foreclosures, loan transactions and corporate sales/transfers/transitions.
In 2022, Chris was appointed as a Chapter 7 panel trustee for the Southern District of Indiana where she administers a wide variety of Chapter 7 cases.
Prior to civil practice, Ms. Jacobson served as a deputy prosecutor for Marion County, an experience that sharpened her litigation skills. She also interned with the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York while in law school. Before law school, she practices as a CPA in New York City for a Big Eight public accounting firm and a Fortune 100 company — a background that gives her in-depth knowledge of financial issues to assist clients in restructuring.
Chris received a B.S. in accounting from Indiana University - Bloomington and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center - Washington, D.C. Before joining PLG, she was a partner at Jacobson Hile Kight LLC. Chris She has been recognized as a "Superlawyer" since 2023.
Chris has served on boards and committees for various Indianapolis entities, including The Orchard School, Master Scholars, Inc., Broadway United Methodist Church, Breaking Free, Families with Children from China–Indiana, and DeVeau's School of Gymnastics Booster Club. She is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and served as chair of the Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Section for the Indiana State Bar Association.
