Chaka represents clients on regulatory and legislative matters before the state legislature as a lobbyist. Drawing from over a decade of public and private sector government affairs experience, Chaka is able to navigate legislative interests to protect the value of the organizations she represents. She helps clients navigate both market and non-market environments by assisting with the development of a complimentary government affairs strategy.
During law school, Chaka was a summer clerk at the Indiana Court of Appeals and also interned in the Quality of Life Unit at the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Additionally, she was a co-fellow in the IU McKinney Program on Law and State Government.
Prior to joining Paganelli Law Group, Chaka worked for the city of Fishers and the Marion Superior Court. She spent her early career at FedEx, where she worked closely with U.S. Customs and Border to overcome the regulatory obstacles her import consignees faced.
Chaka enjoys living in Carmel with her family, where she serves on the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Human Relations, the Carmel Plan Commission, and is a member of the Carmel Rotary. Chaka is also a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and served on the organization’s Board of Directors as the Accountability Director. She currently serves on the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Commission on Racial Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and also serves on the Board of the Bishop Joseph D. Farris Senior Living Center. Chaka is a member of both the Government Affairs Society of Indiana and the National Black Professional Lobbyist Association.
