Human Resources Manager
Paganelli Law Group (PLG) is a growing mid-sized business law and litigation firm with offices in Indianapolis and Bloomington. We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to strengthen our people systems, support our leaders, and help us scale with clarity and professionalism.

This is a three-quarter-time, in-office position (approximately 30 hours per week), based primarily in Indianapolis, with one day per week in Bloomington. The firm reimburses parking and mileage associated with travel between offices.
The Role
This position blends systems design, leadership development, and day-to-day HR operations. The HR Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and a proactive resource for attorneys and staff focused on growth, clarity, and accountability.This role is designed for an HR professional who wants to build durable infrastructure, strengthen leadership capability, and grow into broader responsibility over time.
Core Responsibilities
HR Operations & Systems
- Lead benefits administration, renewals, and open enrollment.
- Maintain and update the employee handbook and core HR policies.
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and best practices.
- Document and standardize recurring HR workflows.
- Maintain employee records and PTO tracking.
Leadership & Development
- Support attorneys and staff in achieving professional growth and performance goals.
- Coach managers in setting clear expectations and delivering constructive feedback.
- Help design and implement structured performance and development systems.
- Promote communication habits that strengthen accountability and collaboration.
Leadership Partnership
- Act as a thought partner to firm leadership on people strategy.
- Identify operational friction points and implement practical solutions.
- Contribute to long-term workforce planning and leadership development.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of progressive HR experience, preferably in professional services.
- Demonstrated experience supporting employee development and performance systems.
- Strong systems orientation and process discipline.
- High discretion and sound judgment.
- Ability to balance empathy with accountability.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent experience preferred.
Position Details
- Approximately 30 hours per week
- In-office role (Indianapolis primary; Bloomington one day weekly)
- Parking and mileage between offices reimbursed by the firm
- Salary range: $65,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience
